Pharrell Williams’ debut men’s collection for Louis Vuitton Spring 2024 has been unveiled at Paris Fashion Week — with his new tune, aptly named Joy, performed for the occasion. And joy was certainly what the pieces elicited and inspired, to rave reviews. Beyonce, Rihanna, A$ap Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, Lebron James, Jude Bellingham, Marcus Rashford, Zendaya, Naomi Campbell, and Kim Kardashian looked on as Pharrell shared his artistic vision for the future of the men’s line, taking up the baton from the late Virgil Abloh. Williams’ collection features statement graphics on hats, caps and eyewear; updated pixelated version of the LV Damier squares on camouflage suits (‘Damouflage’, as worn by himself and his whole family); brightly colored logo bags in every size and shape; impeccably-tailored short suits; bear-footprint soled shoes… and pearls everywhere. Closing the show was a gospel choir wearing white robes — again in the pixelated print — a fitting moment to pay tribute to Abloh whilst simultaneously ushering in a bright new beginning with Williams.
